Special education students make up 1/5 of our district. If we don’t engage in conversation and submit questions to the upcoming forums, their needs won’t be part of the conversation. Let’s make sure our kids and families are represented and they remain part of the conversation.

SSEPAC shared a report to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on August 13th, 2025 regarding the upcoming district review of Somerville Public Schools (SPS) for the 2025-2026 school year.

The School Committee Chair and SSPEAC liaison are in the process of confirming a meeting with SSEPAC to discuss our proposal outlined in our letter.

SSEPAC’s Budget Review Committee crafted a response that outlines key needs and recommendations. District leaders have set up a meeting with our Committee to discuss our recommendations.
