Medicaid provides critical support for families and individuals with disabilities, offering a lifeline of essential services that span health coverage, school support, and community integration. Tell congress not to support cuts to Medicaid!

Medicaid helps by:

  • Providing comprehensive health coverage: This includes doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription medications, mental health services, and specialized care. For many families, Medicaid is the only way to afford the necessary medical care for their children with disabilities.

  • Supporting crucial school-based services: Medicaid funds therapies (speech, occupational, physical), nursing care, assistive technology, and other supports that enable children with disabilities to thrive in the classroom.

  • Facilitating access to vital community services: Medicaid helps individuals with disabilities access home and community-based services (HCBS), including personal care assistance, respite care, and transportation, allowing them to live more independently and participate fully in their communities.

  • Covering specialized equipment and assistive technology: From wheelchairs and walkers to communication devices and hearing aids, Medicaid helps families afford the often-expensive equipment their children need to live fulfilling lives.

Proposed budget cuts in Congress threaten all of these vital supports. We cannot allow this to happen.
